The BNC 625A is much more than
a a signal generator: Never before has so much versatility, capability,
and performance been packed into a single-low cost instrument. Its
architecture is based on the latest advances in DSP and DDS technology
which not only ensures calibrated and drift free performance, but
also gives the engineer signal measurement and analysis functions
such as voltage/power measurement and DTMF detection.
The BNC 625A delivers clean,
fully synthesized, DC to 21.5 MHz modulated or unmodulated waveforms
with ) 0.01 Hz frequency resolution and 1mV and 0.1 dBm amplitude
resolution. User friendly features include a large, easy-to read
LCD display which allows the user to see all modulation parameters
simultaneously. A full numeric keypad and encoder provides direct
editing of each parameter, without confusing sub-menus.
Areas of application include:
medicine, education, communications, photonics, circuit design,
power systems, and consumer electronics.

Arbitrary Waveform Generator
The Arbitrary Waveform Generator
allows you to design custom waveforms on your personal computer
and download them to the BNC 625A which generates them in real-time.
Arbitrary Waveforms may either be designed with a graphical Windows-based
design tool or be generated point-by-point in a variety of data
formats from your own application software. A data generator program,
example waveforms, and a downloading utility are included in this
option.
The Model 625A generates every
data point independent of repetition rate. Normally ARB's simply
replace the sinewave lookup table used in the DDS system with arbitrary
waveform datapoints. With this method waveform points are actually
skipped as the rest as the rep rate is increased. Our unique design
ensures you maintain the characteristics of your wave form.
The TTL/CMOS SYNC output can
be independently controlled which lets you create a pattern of logic
pulses along with your analog waveform. This output swings 0V to
+5V and can be directly drive digital logic. It is useful for designing
arbitrary digital waveforms or generating a triggering or synchronizing
pulse along with the analog waveform.
The BNC 625A will receive and
parse waveform data in a multitude of formats. No confusing protocols
or headers are required, and the data may be separated by any non
digit character (carriage returns, commas, tabs, spaces, etc.),
which makes it easy to download data from a variety of application
programs, spreadsheets, and sampling oscilloscopes.

Function Generator
The function generator offers
a set of pre-stored waveforms which are generated using the Arbitrary
Waveform hardware. The user may quickly select from many stored
waveforms, and may also specify a repetition rate to 2 MHz. All
functions may be generated on a continuous or triggered basis. A
high going synchronizing pulse is a given on the SYNC Output at
the start of each waveform.
